Biography

Bessie Coleman was the first african american women to receive her pilots license. 

When she moved to Chicago when she was 23, she was sparked by the idea of pilots in World War 1, which moved her to being a pilot. Because of racial and sexist discrimination in the United States, she took it upon herself to learn french and move there to get her license. Coming from a family of 14, there was not much money. She got a basic education, and the rest was up to her.

After her license she went into stunt flying and parachuting, Even though she wanted to open her own flying school.

Sadly this pioneer women ended her life at age 34 when she fell to her death during an aerial trick.

She will always be known as a hard working women that made the path for others working in the field of aviation.
